During weaning period (3 to 12 weeks), puppies have increased nutritional requirement to support optimum growth and health.
RAPID GROWTH: During first three months of life puppies grow at fastest speed and multiply in weight rapidly depending on the breed.
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM STILL IMMATURE: Puppies digestive system develops slowly with age. Up to the age of three months, the digestive system of puppies is still delicate.
IMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: The immunity provided by mother's first milk (colostrum) gradually declines as puppies grow and becomes almost undetectable after the 4th week whilst puppies own defense mechanism is underdeveloped at this stage.
The kibbles easily rehydrate to a porridge-like consistency which is very palatable for the weaning puppies.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
 
    WEEK 6 TO BIRTH IMPORTANT:
 
In pregnant bitches, less that 30 % of fetal growth occurs during the first 5 to 6 weeks of pregnancy, after the 5th week, the embryo grows rapidly. It completes more that 75% development in last 3 to 4 weeks. Therefore 6th week onwards the nutritional requirements of females increase inline with the growth of canine embryo.
 
    NEEDS ENERGY RICH DIET:
 
As the developing embryo increases in size, there is reduction in abdomen space available for the expansion of bitch's digestive tract after a meal. Therefore it is helpful to provide several energy dense small meals per day so that reduction in abdomen space does not limit the bitch's ability to consume adequate food.
 
    LACTATION CRUCIAL FOR MOTHER AND PUPPIES:
 
Depending on the size of litter, a bitch's nutritional requirement increases by 2 to 4 times allowing sufficient milk production and to also maintain her health condition.
